How to join

  • To become a full member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) you first have to pass the Advanced Driving Test.  If you have already done this and wish to join our Group, please get in touch with our Group Contact.  Please have your membership number and pass date available.
  • If you are intending to prepare for your test and would like to join us as an Associate you can purchase the IAM’s Skill for Life programme.  This is a comprehensive package comprising: 
    • your first year’s associate membership of the IAM
    • your test fee
    • six months associate membership of this Group
    • the IAM's driving manual
    • "Advanced Motoring" magazines
    • automatic upgrade to full membership if you pass your test in the first year

  • If you are planning to join as an Associate after attending the London Borough of Bromley’s Complete Driving Course, special arrangements apply.  Our Group Contact can provide further details.
